Fostering independence, life skills, and advocacy for K–12 students with disabilities. The Harbor Advocacy & Learning Center is a safe haven where every student is seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.
At The Harbor, we believe every child with a disability deserves more than a desk and a textbook. We are building a place where students learn to cook, manage a home, regulate their senses, and advocate for themselves — skills that last a lifetime.

Our Approach
A Different Kind of School
The Harbor is not a traditional school. Our facility is purpose-built with specialized learning zones that teach the skills students actually need — cooking a meal, doing laundry, managing emotions, and navigating daily life with confidence.
Kitchen Independence
A fully equipped culinary station where students learn meal prep, kitchen safety, and nutrition — one recipe at a time.
Laundry & Home Skills
A dedicated household management area teaching personal care routines, laundry, and home organization.
Sensory Haven
A customized calming room designed for sensory regulation, helping students feel grounded and ready to learn.

Kitchen Independence
Cooking is one of the most powerful life skills a young person can have. Our functional kitchen station is designed to teach students everything from measuring ingredients and following recipes to kitchen safety and nutrition — building confidence and independence with every meal.

Laundry & Home Skills
Managing a home is a skill — and one that many students with disabilities are never formally taught. Our laundry and household management zone gives students hands-on experience with personal care routines, clothing care, and home organization, preparing them for independent living.
